A lifetime horse trainer, Randy Leighton has worked and competed with some of the world’s most recognized horsemen. Growing up around cattle ranches in Salinas, California, Randy’s interest in cattle and ranching developed.

While at a branding, Bill Dorrance noticed Randy’s work ethic and offered to teach him the roping skills that Bill was known for. Through this experience Randy was exposed to many great horseman, and with the Dorrance Brother’s influence, he met Ray Hunt. While Randy was attending Cal Poly University, Ray suggested that he start “cowboying” for some of the largest ranches in Nevada, Oregon and California. Randy’s talent and skill grew, ultimately allowing him to offer his skills to “Running Horse” a comprehensive facility dedicated to you, the horseman, and your horse.
